Wegovy is a medication that contains the active ingredient Semaglutide. It is used to assist with weight management in adults who are overweight or obese and have weight-related medical problems. Semaglutide works by mimicking the effects of a hormone that helps regulate appetite and food intake. It can help you feel full sooner, eat less food, and reduce your cravings, leading to weight loss. Wegovy is suitable for adults with a high BMI (body mass index) who are looking to lose weight and improve their overall health.

Dosage and usage

You should inject Wegovy once a week, on the same day each week. The recommended starting dose is 0.25 mg injected under the skin. Your healthcare provider may increase this to 2.4 mg once a week based on your response to the medication. Remember not to change your dose unless instructed by your doctor. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it's less than 3 days until your next dose. In that case, skip the missed dose and take the next one on your usual day. If you take too much Wegovy, seek medical advice immediately.
