Vaniqa is a cream that contains the active ingredient eflornithine. It is used to slow down the growth of unwanted facial hair in women. Eflornithine works by inhibiting an enzyme in the hair follicles, which reduces hair growth. This product is suitable for women who are bothered by the presence of excess facial hair, particularly around the lips and chin.

Dosage and usage

Apply a thin layer of Vaniqa cream to the affected areas of your face and rub it in gently. You should use it twice a day, at least 8 hours apart. Do not wash the treated area for at least 4 hours after application. Results may be seen as early as 4-8 weeks of consistent use. If you forget a dose, just apply it when you remember, and continue with your regular schedule. There is no specific limit to the duration of use. If you experience any skin reactions, stop using the product and consult your healthcare provider.

Each gram of Vaniqa cream contains 11.5% eflornithine hydrochloride as the active ingredient. The excipients include ceteareth-20, cetearyl alcohol, dimethicone, glyceryl stearate, methylparaben, mineral oil, PEG-100 stearate, phenoxyethanol, propylparaben, stearyl alcohol, and water.

Common side effects of Vaniqa may include acne, stinging or burning of the skin, headache, hair bumps, dry skin, and itching. Serious side effects are rare but may include severe allergic reactions or worsening of skin conditions. If you experience any signs of an allergic reaction such as rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, or trouble breathing, seek medical help immediately.
