Salofalk

Description

Salofalk is a medication that contains the active ingredient mesalazine, which belongs to a group of medicines called aminosalicylates. This medication is commonly used to treat inflammatory bowel diseases such as ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. Salofalk works by reducing inflammation in the bowel, helping to relieve symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, and rectal bleeding. Dosage and usage

For adults, the usual dose of Salofalk is 500 mg to 1 g to be taken three times a day. Your doctor may adjust this dosage based on your condition and response to the treatment. It is essential to follow your doctor's instructions carefully. Remember not to exceed the recommended dose, and if you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for your next dose. If you experience any unusual symptoms or side effects, contact your healthcare provider promptly.

Each Salofalk tablet contains 500 mg of mesalazine as the active ingredient. Other components include microcrystalline cellulose, povidone, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, macrogol 8000, talc, titanium dioxide (E171), and iron oxide yellow (E172).

Side effects

Common side effects of Salofalk may include headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. Serious side effects such as severe allergic reactions or worsening of colitis symptoms may occur in rare cases. If you experience persistent headaches, severe abdominal pain, or notice blood in your stool, seek medical help immediately.

Do not use Salofalk if you are allergic to mesalazine or any of the other ingredients in the product.
