Paludrine

For prevention, the usual dose of Paludrine is one tablet daily, starting 1-2 days before entering the malaria area, continuing throughout the stay, and for 4 weeks after leaving. When used for treatment, the dosage may vary, so follow your doctor's instructions carefully. It's essential to take Paludrine at the same time each day with food or a milky drink to help with absorption. Ensure you complete the full course as prescribed. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it's almost time for the next dose. Do not double up on doses.

Each Paludrine tablet contains 100mg of proguanil hydrochloride as the active ingredient. The tablet also includes excipients such as maize starch, povidone, and magnesium stearate.

Common side effects of Paludrine may include stomach upset, nausea, and headache. Serious side effects like skin rash, itching, difficulty breathing, or swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat require immediate medical attention.

Do not take Paludrine if you are allergic to proguanil or any other ingredients in the tablets.
