Nasonex Nasal Spray contains the active ingredient Mometasone, a corticosteroid that helps to reduce inflammation in your nasal passages. It is effective in treating symptoms of allergic rhinitis like sneezing, itching, and a runny or blocked nose. This nasal spray is suitable for adults and children over 3 years old who suffer from seasonal or perennial allergies.

Dosage and usage

For adults and children over 12 years old, the usual dose is two sprays into each nostril once a day. If you are between 3-11 years old, one spray into each nostril once a day is recommended. Remember not to exceed the prescribed dose. It may take a few days of regular use before you start to feel the full benefits of Nasonex Nasal Spray. If you forget a dose, just take it when you remember unless it's almost time for your next dose.

What Nasonex contains

Each spray contains 50 micrograms of Mometasone Furoate. Other ingredients include glycerol, microcrystalline cellulose, carboxymethylcellulose sodium, sodium citrate, citric acid, and benzalkonium chloride.

Side effects

Common side effects may include headaches, nosebleeds, or a bad taste or smell. Serious side effects are rare but may include severe nasal irritation or allergic reactions. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience any signs of a severe allergic reaction like rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, or trouble breathing.

Do not use Nasonex Nasal Spray if you are allergic to any of its ingredients. Avoid spraying it in your eyes or mouth. If you have recently had nasal ulcers, nasal surgery, or nasal trauma, consult your doctor before using this spray. Inform your healthcare provider about all medications you are taking, especially other corticosteroids. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should seek medical advice before using this product.
