The usual dose of Lumigan is one drop into the affected eye(s) once daily in the evening. Do not use more than the prescribed amount, as this will not make the medication more effective and may increase the risk of side effects. If you forget a dose, just apply the next dose as usual. If you are using other eye drops, wait at least 5 minutes between each medication.
Each ml of Lumigan contains 0.3 mg of bimatoprost. The other ingredients are sodium chloride, sodium phosphate dibasic, citric acid monohydrate, purified water, and benzalkonium chloride as a preservative.
Common side effects of Lumigan may include eye redness, itchy eyes, or changes in eyelash growth. Serious side effects can include eye pain, vision changes, or swelling of the eye. If you experience sudden eye pain or visual changes, contact your healthcare provider immediately.
Do not use Lumigan if you are allergic to bimatoprost or any other ingredients in the product. Avoid using Lumigan if you have certain eye conditions like uveitis. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before using Lumigan. Inform your healthcare provider about any other medications you are taking, especially eye drops.
