Katya

About Katya

Katya is a medication that contains the active ingredient desogestrel, a synthetic hormone that prevents ovulation and changes the cervical mucus and uterine lining to make it harder for sperm to reach the uterus and for a fertilized egg to attach to the uterus. This contraceptive pill is suitable for women who want to prevent pregnancy by inhibiting ovulation and altering the cervical mucus consistency, making it more difficult for sperm to reach the egg.

Dosage and usage

You should take one Katya tablet every day at the same time for 21 days, followed by a 7-day break without pills. Swallow the tablet whole with water if needed. Remember to start your next pack after the 7-day break even if you haven't finished your menstrual bleeding. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember, and continue taking the remaining tablets at the usual time. If you vomit within 3-4 hours of taking a tablet, it may not have been fully absorbed, so take another tablet. The effects of Katya last for the 24-hour period until your next dose. If you experience persistent vomiting or diarrhoea, contraceptive effectiveness may be reduced, so use additional non-hormonal contraception during these episodes.
