Irbesartan

Description

Irbesartan is a medication used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults. It belongs to a class of drugs called angiotensin II receptor antagonists. Irbesartan works by relaxing blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more easily, which helps lower your blood pressure. This medication is suitable for adults who have been diagnosed with hypertension.

Dosage and usage

The usual starting dose of irbesartan is 150 mg once daily. Your doctor may increase the dose to 300 mg once daily based on your blood pressure response. It's important to take irbesartan regularly to get the most benefit from it. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one. If you experience dizziness or lightheadedness, especially during the first days of treatment, you should be cautious when driving or operating machinery. If you have further concerns or experience any troubling symptoms, contact your healthcare provider.
