Finasteride (proscar)

Description

  • Used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)
  • Relieves urinary symptoms caused by BPH
  • Intended solely for use in men
  • Swallow whole

Finasteride, sold under the brand name Proscar, is a medication used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men. The active ingredient in Finasteride works by inhibiting the conversion of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone that can cause the prostate to grow abnormally. This helps reduce the size of the prostate gland, relieving symptoms such as difficulty urinating. Finasteride is suitable for men with BPH who are experiencing urinary problems due to prostate enlargement.
