Fexofenadine is an antihistamine that helps relieve symptoms of allergies such as sneezing, runny nose, and itchy/watery eyes. It works by blocking the action of histamine in the body, which is responsible for allergic reactions. This medication is suitable for adults and children over 12 years old who suffer from seasonal allergies like hay fever.
For adults and children over 12 years old, the usual dose is 120 mg once a day. You can take it with or without food. Do not exceed the recommended dose. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it's almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. The effects of Fexofenadine can last for 24 hours. If you experience any severe side effects like difficulty breathing or swelling of the face, seek immediate medical help.
Each tablet of Fexofenadine contains 120 mg of fexofenadine hydrochloride as the active ingredient. The excipients include microcrystalline cellulose, pregelatinized starch, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, povidone, titanium dioxide, colloidal anhydrous silica, macrogol, and iron oxide.
Common side effects of Fexofenadine may include headache, drowsiness, and nausea. Serious side effects that require immediate medical attention are rare but may include palpitations, chest tightness, or seizures. If you notice any of these symptoms, contact your healthcare provider promptly.
Do not use Fexofenadine if you are allergic to fexofenadine or any of the ingredients in the product. Avoid this medication if you have severe kidney disease.
