Dosage and usage

For adults, the typical dosage of Famotidine for heartburn and acid indigestion is 10mg to 20mg taken orally, once or twice a day. If you are using it to prevent ulcers, the usual dose is 20mg taken at bedtime. You should not exceed a total daily dose of 80mg. Famotidine can take up to an hour to start working. If you experience any unusual symptoms or if your condition does not improve, contact your healthcare provider.

Famotidine tablets typically contain 20mg of famotidine as the active ingredient. Other ingredients may include microcrystalline cellulose, hydroxypropyl cellulose, hypromellose, magnesium stearate, and starch.
