Estraderm MX

Description

Estraderm MX is a medication that contains estradiol, a form of the hormone estrogen. It is used to relieve symptoms associated with menopause, such as hot flashes, vaginal dryness, and night sweats. Estraderm MX helps by replenishing estrogen levels in your body, which can decrease due to menopause. This treatment is suitable for women experiencing menopausal symptoms. 

Dosage and usage

You should apply one Estraderm MX patch to clean, dry skin once a week. It is essential to rotate the application site to prevent skin irritation. The effects of the patch last for a week. If you forget to apply a patch, do so as soon as you remember. If you experience persistent skin irritation or any concerning symptoms, contact your healthcare provider.

Each Estraderm MX patch contains 1.5 mg of estradiol. The patch also includes other components such as acrylic adhesive, povidone, silicone adhesive, and silicone-coated polyester film. 

Side effects

Common side effects of Estraderm MX may include skin irritation at the application site, breast pain, and headaches. Serious side effects that require immediate medical attention can include chest pain, signs of a blood clot, or allergic reactions like rash, itching, or swelling. 

Precautions

Avoid using Estraderm MX if you have a history of certain conditions like breast cancer, blood clots, or liver disease. Do not use this medication if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you have a history of heart disease or are taking medications like blood thinners, consult your doctor before using Estraderm MX.
