Champix tablets contain varenicline (as tartrate) as the active ingredient. Each tablet also contains microcrystalline cellulose, anhydrous dibasic calcium phosphate, and other excipients. The tablets are film-coated for oral administration.

Common side effects of Champix may include nausea, headache, insomnia, abnormal dreams, and changes in taste. Serious side effects can include mood changes, depression, thoughts of self-harm, or allergic reactions. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience chest pain, shortness of breath, or signs of an allergic reaction such as rash or swelling.

Do not use Champix if you are allergic to varenicline or any other ingredients in the tablets. Inform your healthcare provider about any medical conditions you have, especially mental health issues, kidney problems, or a history of seizures.
