Candesartan is a medication that belongs to a class of drugs known as angiotensin II receptor blockers. Dosage and usage

For adults with high blood pressure, the usual starting dose of Candesartan is 16 mg once a day. Your doctor may adjust this dose based on your individual response. The maximum recommended dose is 32 mg per day. It is important to take Candesartan regularly to get the most benefit from it. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is close to your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule.

Each Candesartan tablet contains 16 mg or 32 mg of candesartan cilexetil as the active ingredient. The tablets also contain other ingredients such as lactose monohydrate, hydroxypropyl cellulose, corn starch, magnesium stearate, and iron oxide.

Common side effects of Candesartan may include dizziness, headache, and fatigue. In rare cases, Candesartan can cause a severe allergic reaction or liver problems. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience symptoms such as difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, throat, or tongue, or severe dizziness.

Do not take Candesartan if you are pregnant, as it can cause harm to your unborn baby. Inform your doctor if you have a history of kidney disease, liver disease, or heart problems before taking Candesartan. If you have diabetes, do not use Candesartan together with aliskiren.
