Bactroban Nasal Ointment

About Bactroban nasal ointment

Bactroban nasal ointment is an antibiotic ointment containing mupirocin calcium. It is used to kill a group of bacteria in the nose, including the bacteria called 'Staphylococcus aureus'. Staphylococcus bacteria can cause infections in and around the nose. It is possible to carry the bacteria in your nose without knowing it. Bactroban nasal ointment is also used in so-called ‘nasal carriers’ to prevent the bacteria from spreading to other people. For instance, in situations involving vulnerable people.
